In the early part of the 20th century, cinematographic films had become
a part of community life throughout Greece. Films were shown in the local
”Kafeneio’s” and central squares. As the popularity rose, open air theatres,
terraces and empty plots of land gave the architectural basis for something
new: the ”Open Air Cinema”. This new form of entertainment, suitable for the
warm summer evenings, has been, and still is loved by all generations of Greeks.
Cine Kamari is a modern version of this old idea.
Set in a wind protected garden, surrounded by old trees, with traditional architecture but modern sound and vision equipment.
Our full bar offers cocktails (try our strawberry Daiquiri and Mojito!), Local beer and wine, refreshments, ice cream and snacks & hot dogs.
In 2012 the TRAVEL CHANNEL in 2014 THE GUARDIAN.UK and in 2015 CNN Travel channel announced the OPEN AIR CINEMA KAMARI as one of the 10 best open air cinemas worldwide.
