There is superb bird-watching at Manawatu river estuary, where up to 38 species of migratory birds can visit, including Royal spoonbills, shearwaters, petrels, grey teals, sandpipers, godwits, terns and wrybills. A viewing platform overlooking the estuary is situated at the end of Dawick Street, Foxton Beach and only approx 13meters from motel.
