WELCOME TO WEST KENT GOLF CLUB<\/h2>\n

Founded in 1916, West Kent is a well established and highly respected private members’ club. Located in an attractive rural setting between Downe Village and Down House, our continued success has been achieved by upholding golf’s best traditions of etiquette, courtesy and friendship.<\/p>\n

COURSE OVERVIEW<\/h2>\n

West Kent Golf Club was established in 1916. The course at Downe was built in 1925 to the design of W H Fowler and J F Abercrombie, who have designed many clubs in the area including, The Berkshire, Walton Heath and Coombe Hill.<\/p>\n

The 6427 yard course has a challenging mixture of undulating features based on woodland, downland and parkland holes to test all abilities. West Kent is the longest ladies course in Kent at just under 6000 yards. Major investment has been made in recent years including a state of the art irrigation system and development of new pathways and improvements to our greens.<\/p>\n

Visitors are warmly welcomed at West Kent all year round. Casual Visitors can play weekdays by booking a tee time through the pro shop. Visitors may also play Sunday if there is tee availability by booking through the pro shop.<\/p>\n

We have various society packages to suit all requirements and can take societies, unusually for many clubs, on a Friday – contact us with your requirements.<\/p>\n

\u2018NEW TO GOLF\u2019 MEMBERSHIP<\/h2>\n

If you are not already a golfer but would like to give it a try we have a \u2018New to Golf\u2019 Membership which is intended to encourage new golfers to develop their golfing skills, become familiar with the rules and etiquette of golf and progress to obtain an official Club Handicap before moving to Full Member status.<\/p>\n

It is intended that this category of temporary membership is a stepping stone from the Academy Scheme run by the Professional Shop and \u2018New to Golf\u2019 Members are encouraged to continue lessons with the Professional Shop.<\/p>\n

FUNCTIONS<\/h2>\n

We have an unchallenged reputation for providing tailor made wedding receptions and social functions. West Kent Golf Club provides the highest standard of service and quality with a personal touch that will guarantee a most memorable day.<\/p>\n

The restaurant seats up to 130 people for a sit down meal, and 150 people for a buffet.<\/p>\n

If you have a different menu in mind we will be happy to discuss this with you and provide an alternative quotation.<\/p>\n

OUR PROFESSIONAL TEAM<\/h2>\n

Open seven days a week, the Professional Shop is the hub of the day-to-day golfing activities at West Kent. Simon Iliffe and his team of PGA Qualified Professionals offer equipment advice and tuition to golfers of all abilities, including a bespoke custom club fitting service from Driver to Putter.\nWe offer some of the best teaching facilities in the South of England as West Kent is home to The Puttlab which specialises in high-quality analysis of your putting stroke, using SAM PuttLab; High Speed Ball Roll Software and Multi-Angle Video Analysis. Our new state of the art teaching studio allows you to improve your golf, whatever the weather utilising the latest Trackman technology.<\/p>\n

The Pro Shop stocks all the major brands including Titleist, FootJoy, Callaway, Ping, Taylormade, Yonex and Mizuno plus a range of West Kent branded clothing and accessories.<\/p>\n
