This unique and enchanted place will give you the real cultural aruban experience. Anthony, the museum and gallery guide has so much to tell you about his art and inspiration that you would like to come back for another tour. Etnia Nativa is where you can find out all about arubas bygone cultures, history and art.
Do not forget to make an appointment since the space is very concurred and they have a limited capacity.

The Etnia Natvia gallery isn't just IN the home of the artist, Anthony, and his wife - it IS their home (which explains why booking an appointment in advance is necessary!) From the moment you visit, the door is thrown open and you're welcomed as a friend. To describe it as an art gallery or even a museum doesn't do it justice. There is a lot of art, all made by Anthony, that demonstrates the creativity, ingenuity, thoughtfulness, and values of the artist. There are also historical artifacts, some of which have been passed down through generations from both the indigenous and European sides of Anthony's family. But it's really Anthony himself that ties it all together and makes Etnia Nativa a unique and special place.

Anthony will tell you all about the island, the history of its peoples, his art and inspirations, and touch upon other interesting topics like science, nature, and gardening. If you want to go beyond the typical tourist attraction and really experience something interesting, this is where to do it. The only regret is that we included Etnia Nativa as part of an island tour, so we had to cut our visit short - I recommend keeping your time open-ended because you really can get caught up in the conversation. Also, Anthony does sell some of his work but it is cash only (as is the admission), so keep that in mind if you're thinking of leaving with one of his unique pieces. Finally, Anthony did mention that he was considering writing a book about Aruba; I hope he does as it would be a fascinating read!
