Unfold in the heart of the historic headquarters of the Institution, listed historical monument, the Bank Al-Maghrib Museum is owned by the Central Bank of Morocco and is a department of Bank Al-Maghrib.
The Museum is ideally located in the nerve centre of the capital of Morocco, Rabat, inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage list. Its collections span centuries in numismatics, arts and history and reflect Moroccan rich cultural heritage.
The Museum of Bank Al-Maghrib invites visitors to create their own unique path of discovery of the collections through three areas:
The history of currencies
Visitors to the Museum can admire some 1200 coins, items, monetary instruments and banknotes displayed in a high-quality-museum presentation.
The art gallery
The Museum is home to a collection of unique works of art, highlighting the imprint of several prominent Moroccan artists, as well as foreign painters who have sought inspiration in Moroccan scenes in the nineteenth century.
Missions of the Central Bank
On a 30 m long glass wall, a set of modules presents, in a didactic and participatory approach, the history and major missions of the Central Bank of Morocco in its national and international environment.
