Less than two and a half hours from Durban, the lodge is central to Zululand’s outdoor attractions and a multitude of excursions can be arranged.

If you ever dreamt of getting close to nature, interacting with tame cats, like cheetah, Emdoneni Lodge with Cheetah Project is the place to visit!

Emdoneni Lodge with Cheetah Project offers guests intimate and comfortable accommodation in Hluhluwe in chalets and rondavels, on a dinner, bed & breakfast basis. All of the units (chalets and rondavels) are serviced twice daily. Mainly showers in the rooms, with the exception of two rooms that do include baths.

The accommodation is enhanced by facilities that encourage our guests to unwind, relax and enjoy the spectacular lodge surroundings, including a swimming pool and sky deck.

Join us for an up close and personal tour and learn more about South Africa’s endangered wildcat species. Come and be mesmerised by the beauty of the caracal, enchanted by the playful serval, astonished by the speed and agility of the cheetah and delighted by the African wildcat. View and photograph these amazing animals at the Emdoneni Cheetah Project. We offer daily educational tours, with feedings during the afternoon tour and an informative talk about the animals and the project by an experienced guide.

The aim of the Emdoneni Cheetah Project is to care for cheetahs, serval cats, African wildcats and caracal (lynx), which have been orphaned or injured in the wild and are in need of care and rehabilitation. We also intend to breed successfully (where possible) and release the offspring back into their natural habitat.

If you have ever dreamt of a true African wedding, walking down a grassy aisle with African wildlife grazing in the background, then this is possible at Emdoneni Lodge with Cheetah Project, where even a cheetah may pose with you for a photograph! For added convenience, it is just a short walk from the aisle at the ceremony to your reception and to our comfortable accommodation.

Whether you are in the mood to relax by the pool and listen to the surrounding sounds of nature or would prefer to take one of our guided walks through the game farm, you are bound to leave Emdoneni Lodge with Cheetah Project feeling relaxed and more in touch with nature.
