Margate is famous for its beautiful beaches, natural forests, subtropical climate, and nightlife. Apart from the beaches, Margate also offers some of the best snorkelling and diving in South Africa, and other activities include surfing, deep sea fishing, and golf. Riverbend Crocodile Farm is less than 15 km away, and Pure Venom Reptile Park is located less than 12 km away. Abseiling, shark cage diving, horse riding, bungee jumping, micro-lighting, helicopter rides, 4X4 trails, and cycling are some of the other activities that can be enjoyed in the surrounding area.
