Situated off the southernmost tip of Lombok, ko-ko-mo Gili Gede, a serene and chic resort, overlooks the sparkling aqua seas of the Indian Ocean. Each villa at kokomo is situated on between 160sq metres (one bedroom) and 300sq metres (two bedrooms) of land, each with a private swimming pool
The villas are distinguished by the consideration of location, so that every villa has views or glimpses over the Indian Ocean, and over the natural terrain and foliage, yet remains private
All flooring and bathrooms are finished in creamy white marble, and the deck areas are in warm, rich, Javanese Merbau timber. Additionally, the villa comprises custom-built furniture, reflecting Indonesian culture but with an elegant and comfortable contemporary edge
The combined living/dining is 8 x 4.5 metres, fully air-conditioned, with a 40-inch television, DVD and IPod docking station and a dining area with a marble topped kitchenette consisting of kettle, large fridge, hot and cold fresh water cooler, and tea and coffee making facilities. Smooth operating bi-fold doors opening directly onto the decking with an automatically operated extendable awning, and pool. The colour palette is neutral yet reflects elements of the sea, the coral and the sand through furnishings and artwork, and the white marble flooring provides a sleek, elegant finish
The bedrooms are 6 x 5 metres with king-size beds with high-end mattresses, fine quality 400TC Bamboo sheeting and a choice of pillows from our pillow menu. Flooring is marble and the bedrooms are fully air-conditioned, with bi-fold doors opening directly onto the pool and decked area
Other inclusions in the bedrooms include: a separate granite topped ‘His and Hers’ vanity, comprising personal wash basins, magnifying mirrors and halogen lighting; a 32” TV, and dual access to the ensuite bathroom located at the back of the bedroom
The same neutral palette predominates, but is lifted with a tasteful use of colour in the decoration, reflecting the richness of the ocean and the colourful underwater life that surrounds the island. Again, custom-built furniture and designer unique artworks add a wonderful dimension to the concept of tropical villas
Bathrooms have both indoor and outdoor showers, and are also decorated using white marble floors and walls, a granite vanity and German taps and showers. Toilets are the wall-hung Swiss brand – Geberit
Finally, a generously proportioned private pool of 7 x 3m in the one-bed villas (and 9 x 3.5m in the two-bed villas) is an integral part of each villa, with bedrooms and living areas opening directly onto the pool decking and outside entertainment area via bifold doors from both the living and bedrooms
The pools are tiled with green stone and have white marble surrounds, Merbau timber decking and deluxe sunbeds. Additionally, each has a Bale (gazebo) which is raised above the pool to benefit from the ocean views for outdoor dining and cocktails and houses an intimate table and chair setting, perfect for benefitting from the cooling breeze that comes directly from the ocean in front
The pool area has an outdoor hot and cold water shower using our Resort desalinated water (all fresh water for the Resort is provided by our own desalination units)
