Welcome to Papua-Diving in Raja Ampat. Founder Max Ammer pioneered the area 30 years ago and based on his observations decided that Kri island would be the perfect location to start exploring Raja Ampat. Located at the heart of the Coral Triangle, Kri island is home to Sorido bay resort and Kri Eco resort. Both resorts belong to Papua-Diving and provide an unforgettable paradise experience to its guests, divers and snorkelers alike.
Sorido Bay and Kri Eco are each accessed by their own long jetty that overlooks the reefs surrounding the island. Sorido Bay, which is the smaller of the 2 resorts on Kri island, is a luxury boutique resort and Kri Eco caters to a broader clientele of travelers and nature-lovers. Each resort is surrounded from one side by water and from the other side by pristine primal forest.
A range of various activities are offered by the 2 resorts: bird watching, hiking, kayaking, snorkeling,... But the main reason for most travelers is of course diving. Immersing yourself (literally) in the heart of the Coral Triangle is a unique experience. This biodiversity is not only due to the location of Raja Ampat, the Dampier strait that connects the Indian ocean with the Pacific ocean, but also to all the different habitats that coexist in such a small area. During your stay with Papua-Diving one has the possibility to dive several of these different habitats. From mangrove dives to reef dives, from calm protected bays to wild adrenaline packed drift dives. Some of the newer activities on offer for the guests are muck diving and fluo diving. All this diving comes together with service, safety and comfort in mind. Papua-Diving provides this by keeping the groups small. Every dive boat takes a maximum of 6 guests with at least 2 professional dive guides. A lot of the divesites around Kri island are ranked in the list of best divesites in the world. For some of the other special divesites that are further away, Papua-Diving organizes full-day and half-day trips that are a combination of underwater and top-side exploration.
the richest house-reef of the World: Kri Eco & Sorido Bay are both located in a MPA (Marine Protected Area), right next to the richest house-reef of the world ‘Cape Kri’, where Dr.G. Allen broke the world record count of 374 different species in 2012. Not only is this the richest dive spot in the world but also great for snorkeling.
