True Bali Experience is Bali’s leading Balinese Owned Adventure Company. An exciting and dynamic family business, True Bali Experience was established in 1995 to provide locally owned and operated soft adventures with the highest international standards of safety, training and conservation. True Bali Experience began as Ayung River Rafting – the island’s 1st locally owned rafting company – offers the Ayung River’s longest white water adventure, trekking (Rain Forest and village), Cycling in three different location namely; Carangsari Village Cycling, Kintamani Mountain Cycling and Jatiluwih Rice Paddy Cycling.
In 2001, Bali Horse Riding joined the stable, and with over 20 horses and beautiful beaches to ride them on, became an instant success. We also have convertible ‘topless’ VW Safaris for you to tour the island on! Check them out on our product pages.
In 2004, working with the Government in aid of elephant conservation, Bali Elephant Camp was established to help care for and promote the plight of Sumatran elephants. At the beginning, Bali Elephant Camp has 9 Sumatran elephants, who along with their ‘mahouts’ (careers) have become ambassadors for their brothers and sisters in Sumatra. Come and ride one today – our friends in conservation say we have some of the healthiest, happiest elephants they’ve ever seen!
In 2013 our new and fascinating within out camp is pod chocolate. Pod Chocolate is a sustainable chocolate maker creating world class chocolate in the heart of Bali. We believe in organic farming and sustainability without compromising taste or luxury and are supporting our farmers to grow organic while working towards fair-trade practices. Pod Chocolate has developed a range of products for retail and commercial use ranging from our signature chocolate bars, pralines & pod bites to chocolate covertures being used in Bali’s finest hotels & resorts and a range of tailor made chocolates and amenities.
We’re excited to be able to offer so many great adventures all in the one location. That’s a Bali First! No other company can share so much excitement in one place. And best of all – that place is our own village. Alit Yudha, the company’s founder, had a dream to improve the social conditions in the surrounding villages by encouraging tourism. When the company started it had only a handful of people, and now it contributes to employing up to 200 people in and around the beautiful location (not to mention caring for the elephants!).
All guides are trained to the: River Rescue, first aid & cardio-Pulmonary resuscitation by ‘The Badung Surf Life Saving of Bali’

More about where we are… True Bali Experience is just north of the Sangeh Monkey Forest, across the river from Ubud in the village of Carang Sari. It’s a scenic drive passing through lots of local life. Our location is perched on the edge of the Ayung River – over 20 hectares of lush fertile grounds including rice paddies, jungles and small plots of cocoa and chilies. The views are amazing – this is definitely one of the most beautiful places in Bali (but don’t take our word for it – come and see!).
