'Elephant Special Tours' is a German-Thai company based in Mae Sapok (about 60 km outside Chiang Mai, Thailand).
People are fascinated by elephants. It is a dream of many to get to know those grey giants upclose. The approach of Elephant Special Tours is to introduce you to those magnificent animals in a calm and individual way. Along with many explanations about the cultural specialties of the southeast-asian region you will wander around through the mountains, you wil bathe them and depending on the tour you want to book it is also possible to ride them.
Asia's 'elephant-culture' is thousands of years old. Since the logging-ban in Thailand thousands of elephants were unemployed from one day to the other.
Tourist will learn how to lead elephants. By individually introducing people to the grey giants a stress free get-to-know is guaranteed. Furthermore it is important to explain about cultural specialties of the Asian way of life and about the thousands of years long tradition of elephant keeping.
