The owners, Dave and Helen have been running Kawau Lodge as a 4 star B&B until recently but have now had a change of direction and the house is available as a Holiday House. Guests can now enjoy Helen & Dave's little piece of paradise on Kawau Island. Kawau Island is located only 1 hour's drive north of Auckland city and a 30 minute boat ride. The house comprises 3 bedrooms, two rooms have ensuites, heated floors, towel rail, dressing gowns, plus tea & coffee making facilities and the third room has a separate bathroom. There is a modern kitchen, lounge, great outdoor spaces, 2 BBQ areas all with lovely views over the bay which is surrounding by New Zealand native bush. There are great walking tracks and complimentary kayaks for guest's use. Kawau Island is car free, so no noise pollution, only the sounds of birds - wekas, kiwi, tui, native pigeon, fantails to name a few.
Kawau Island Experience run their own boat - "Dolphin Endeavour" and arrangements can be made for Dave to come and collect you and bring you out to the island. He is also available to take you on a sightseeing tour around the island and visit the historic Mansion House and Reserve plus your journey would not be complete without a visit to the famous Kawau Boating Club.
Guests would need to bring their own food and supplies, but Dave and Helen can help with this service. Linen is available for hire.
