With Adventure Horse Trekking NZ you will ride quiet surefooted horses, over the breathtaking snow capped mountains and isolated high country stations, through snow fed, stony rivers and alpine lakes. Our safaris lead you along time-worn trails that Maori hunting parties, pioneers and gold miners’ used when Aotearoa was first settled. You could be forgiven for thinking you were an actor in "the Lord of the Rings!"
Accommodation is in 100 year old musters huts, shearers’ quarters, historic cottages or the oldest and most haunted NZ pub. We have worked hard to source lodgings that reflect the history of the Central Otago to ensure you visit is filled with adventure. Keen eyes may spot wild deer, trout filled ponds and rare NZ falcons overhead, on a horse you are at one with the environment.
Enjoy farm fresh Angus beef, merino, free range eggs, Mount Harris venison, High Country salmon, traditional preserves, relishes and good home baking. We can source award winning Central Otago wines of your choice.
We have 1/2 day to 8 day pack trails available, along with personally tailored packages for birthdays or Christmas functions. We also implement team building and pack horse/ mule & wilderness training
