The quiet ensuite guest room is downstairs and has a very comfortable superking bed, and a flat screen TV. As there is only the one main guest
bedroom, guests can enjoy privacy and that feeling of being the special guests. The room has tea and coffee making, iron and ironing board, and the bathroom has a well lit makeup mirror, heated towel rail etc.
There is another room upstairs that I can sometimes use for extra family.
Fendalton House has good off-street parking. The big central park is an easy walk away, and likewise all the interesting restaurants, cafés and shops in Riccarton Road. The University of Canterbury is just up the road, a pleasant 5-10 minute walk.
Breakfast is a great selection and includes lots of fruit, and a large choice of cooked dishes, bacon and eggs, French Toast etc.
Just down the road is Riccarton Bush, which is a very special and protected bit of the original Christchurch vegetation. Riccarton Bush has two historic residences, Riccarton House, and beside it, the tiny Deans cottage built by one of the first settlers here, around the mid 1800's.
