Wal's Plant and Fun Land is more than just a place to buy your plants. This unique setting is has a lot to offer all in the 1 location with ponds, plants, giftware, fresh produce, a cafe, mini golf, driving range, mini trains and entertainment for the whole family.
There is an 18-hole mini golf course, an all weather golf driving range and mini trains that run September through to May on selected Sundays (normally every second Sunday 11-4pm). The Topiary cafe is also on site and open 7 days, 9am - 5pm where you can enjoy the stunning outlook onto the landscaped gardens or watch the kids jump on the trampoline. Plus Wal's Vege land has all your fresh produce needs and real berry fruit ice- creams too!
The Mini golf course has 18 holes, themed from around the local area and is sure to challenge all age groups. Most groups find it takes approximately 45 minutes to complete.
The all weather driving range is approx 300m long with 6 indoor and 6 outdoor stalls so you can have a hit and let off some steam or try and perfect your swing. You can use the clubs supplied by Wal's or bring your own. A large bucket of balls is $10 and a small bucket is $5.
The Otago Miniature Rail and Road Society operates the Mini trains from September through to May on selected Sundays at their home at Wal's Plant and Fun land. There are a number of different trains (including electric and steam) that toot around the 2km+ track, across the bridges and over the ponds. Currently, train rides cost $2.50 each or you can buy a concession of 10 rides for $20.
Wal's Plant Land has a comprehensive range of plants, trees and shrubs and loads of giftware too. Plus there is an in store florist who can make flowers to order and there is bouquets available daily. There is also a large range of bulk landscape supplies and wood in winter to keep you warm!
Located just 15 minutes from Dunedin city centre, and a quick drive from the airport. It's worth the drive to Wal's!
