Ulva Island is a predator free bird sanctuary, renowned for its diverse and abundant birdlife with a forest dominated by Rimu, Miro, Southern Rata and Kamahi, surrounded by marine reserve. Experience some of New Zealands rarest birds in their natural environment during an easy 3.5 hour Guided Walk along well maintained gravelled tracks.
Local Stewart Island walks can be designed to fit the individuals interests and abilities, with the most popular being the Port William to Lee Bay track. This includes a 25 minute water taxi ride to Port William and then a 9km, 3 - 4 hour walk through the native rainforest via Maori Beach back to Lee bay. This suits individuals of moderate fitness.
