Gardens Homestay is a Boutique B&B located in the historic Thorndon area of Wellington City. We're close to the Botanic Gardens, downtown Wellington, Zealandia and all the important institutions of the capital city. The main business and shopping area is under ten minutes walk through the gardens.
Our classic Victorian house was built in 1892 and restored in the 1980's and '90's. The property features a swimming pool beside a brick courtyard in a secluded garden. It's quiet, yet central, peaceful but only two minutes walk from great cafes, restaurants, bars and specialty shops.
We enjoy harbour and mountain views from the courtyard and from the guest suite. Our street is a cul de sac with historic cottages and very little traffic. Bush walks with spectacular views start at one end of the street and the Botanic Gardens and Rose Garden are at the other.
Our one suite has a large Queen room with fireplace and a smaller double room, plus bathroom and hall. It opens through French doors on to the verandah with outdoor seating overlooking the harbour view. Our guests are invited to join us for drinks and conversation as we greatly enjoy the company of visitors from far away. Our breakfast is lavish and our service unobtrusive.
