St Nicholas Abbey is one of Barbados' most historic landmarks. This Jacobean Mansion was built in 1658. It is one of only three existing in the Western Hemisphere. The Plantation and its many buildings have remained as much as they were for the previous three centuries.
The residence is open to the public daily, including the various outbuildings which support a cottage industry in sugar; the hand bottling of unique blends of Rum, Sugar and Molasses. The 1890 steam mill will occasionally be available for viewing, and visitors can also enjoy a light lunch on the terrace cafe.
