Salty Sols Surf School is a small surf school located in Tamarindo, Costa Rica. Tamarindo is one of the most popular surfer destinations in all of Costa Rica, because of it's great waves for all levels in this fun, bustling little town full of great waves (and close proximity to neighboring beaches with excellent waves as well), nightlife and hosting a ton of other great activities to do as well. At Salty Sols Surf School we focus on small group and individual surf lessons, for beginner, intermediate, or the more advanced also with the option of surf trips and different packages for multiple lessons.

At Salty Sols Surf School, we focus on quality and personalized classes. Our goal is that every client walk away with a great experience, feeling that they have thoroughly enjoyed the thrill of surfing and have recieved a first class personalized service with our surf school. Eric Atkinson, owner and main surf instructor at Salty Sols, grew up landlocked in Missouri, but after spending years travelling and living abroad between South America, Hawaii and Spain, fell in love with the ocean and surfing became his way of life. Deciding Tamarindo would be an excellent place to settle because of the waves and such a fun little beach town, he chose this as his new home since 2008 and has become one of the most sought-after instructor known for his experience and people skills, making all of his clients (adults and children alike) feeling comfortable and ready to have fun as they learn the necessary skills to catch their first waves or to hone their skills as they go advancing.

Generally a surf lesson lasts 2 hours with a maximum of 4 people in a group. However, larger groups can be reserved by adding an additional instructor, assuring that everyone will get plenty of attention, while helping to ensure a safe surfing session. The lessons are generally given at Tamarindo Beach or just on the other side of the Tamarindo Estuary, on the south end of Playa Grande. Private or semi-private classes are also good options for intermediate or advanced level surfers.
