The Place du Grand Sablon, is a historical landmark and a true haven for antique and chocolate lovers alike. This is where, mid July 2015, we settled down and opened up our restaurant & bar which has rapidly became the “IT” place-to-be!
The vintage interior, combines eye-catching artwork, an eclectic collection of objects, from sheepskin to pig lamps, blending effortlessly with the original white painted wooden beams, and cornucopia baffling your senses between Scandinavia and Ibiza! From the (heated) terrace or our first floor restaurant, you can enjoy wonderful views of one of the most beautiful squares in the heart of the capital of Europe.
Open seven days a week, we welcome you as from seven am for breakfast followed by a non-stop kitchen service from noon to 11 pm.
On the menu you will find a selection of classic Belgian dishes elaborated with the only the best local source produce. Try for example our homemade grey shrimp croquettes, the “américan frites”, a generous Caesar salad, a tasty "Cuberoll entrecôte" or a rack of lamb with rosemary and braised chicory followed by emblematic desserts such as the inevitable “Dame Blanche” or the tiramisu made with Belgian speculoos.
From Monday to Friday, a daily lunch is available at 14 € (18 € for two courses).
Our wine card offers a couple of pleasant surprises, including some very nice bottles from Australia at mouth-watering prices. So whether it's for a convivial drink or a fantastic meal, Pop Up Sablon is your single address!
