“Art by Stjepko”
We happened upon Captain Mamic's atelier while meandering our way around old town Dubrovnik. A piece of his amazing artwork hanging outside the studio was what drew us inside where we were warmly greeted by Stjepko. We talked at length about his life and life's work.....the evolution from full time sea captain to full time artist. My partner and I were taken with his work and we made several more visits to the studio over the course of our short visit to Dubrovnik......resulting in three of his beautiful pieces now hanging in our home in Nova Scotia, Canada. Thank you so much Captain Stjepko Mamic! We're just loving them!

Capt. Stjepko Mamic has talent in abundance and confirmed by the beauty of his paintings. I have been fortunate to commission a painting from Stjepko with his unique ability to capture the underwater aspect and the vibrancy is vivid.

Found the shop by accident walking home from dinner but was drawn in by the vivid and unique paintings. Stjepko is a brilliant artist and if you are looking for a one of a kind painting a stop into his shop is a must. Stjepko took time to tell me about all his paintings and what makes them different. Everything about this artist is first class and I will be buying another painting from him soon.
“Best gallery in Dubrovnik!”
Stjepko's atelier is by far the best in Dubrovnik! We loved meeting the artist in person and enjoyed an informal "personal tour" of the gallery. His paintings are vibrant, happy, and full of life - we hope to have one in our home one day! Discovering this gallery was a definite highlight of our time in Dubrovnik.
Capt. Stjepko Mamic, multi awarded artist, both a painter and sea captain was born in Dubrovnik, Croatia. His paintings are unique, bursting with color created with powerful strokes of the palette knife, full of light and positive energy. He implements an array of media : oil, acrylic, combining them with glowing effects and golden leaves. After thirty years of sea service he returned to home port and continues to work as a full time freelance artist/painter.
He has perfected the techniques of contemporary painting at the Academy D'Arte Florence, Italy and Academia du Port-Royal, Paris, France. Stjepko is member of The Croatian Association Of Artists-Dubrovnik (HDLU-Dubrovnik), Arteide, international cultural origination and Art Nation, international Artist Association, Germany, ICAF – South Korea He has exhibited extensively in Croatia and worldwide, like in Bosnia and Herzegovina (Mostar, Sarajevo), Denmark (Frederiksvaerk), France (Paris, Aulnay-sous-Bois), Italy (Catania, Palermo, Lecce, Florence), Switzerland (Basel, Frick, Zurich), United Kingdom (London, Oxford) and USA (New York, Los Angeles).
