Musée Mendjisky-Écoles de Paris

First private museum dedicated to the Première and the Deuxième Écoles de Paris, the Musée Mendjisky-Écoles de Paris opened in 2014. It is settled in a former artist workshop, built by Robert Mallet Stevens in 1932, for his friend and partner Louis Barillet. Patricia and Serge Mendjisky (Maurice Mendjizky's son) created in 2012 the endowment fund which led to the creation of the museum.

The museum presents a permenant fund regarding the Première and the Deuxième Écoles de Paris, presenting artists such as Lazare Volovick, Foujita, Kremegne, Maurice Mendjizky...

Besides, it also presents temporary exhibitions about the artists and artistic crafts of the XXe century. Since its opening, the museum has presented a Maurice Mendjizky retrospective, an exhibition about Alfred Manessier, one about Schneider Art Déco glassware, one about Artist workshops in Paris, and one about the Émile Savitry's photographies. From october the 12th to december 31st, the museum will present a temporary exhibition about french painters in the 1950's : Les Insoumis de l'art moderne, Paris les années 50.

A bookstore at the entrance offers a selection of novels, art books. There is also a shop proposing a glassware and jewels selections made by La Maison du Vitrail.
