ULA is a modern Japanese restaurant, opened in Berlin in 2012. In the creation of our restaurant, we sought to build a space that is set apart from the turbulence of the city and deliberately away from the main roads – “ula” is the Japanese word for hidden. This is why it is possible for us to provide an exclusive and intimate atmosphere and to create a small part of Japan in Berlin. On our menu you will find a range of Japanese-Fusion dishes that are typical of the cuisine of the country, made fresh in our kitchen by our all-Japanese cooking staff with the best regional dishes.

Our mission is to bring Japanese and Western cultures together through exquisite food. To ensure that our guests can enjoy many different flavours, we offer a very comprehensive menu. The Japanese word “omotenashi” means nothing more than that we welcome them gladly. We place the traditional Japanese concept of “omotenashi” at the centre of our service here at ULA. As a Japanese restaurant, we are proud of every small detail, and we live by the Japanese proverb that says that the guest is always in the right. On Sundays we serve an exclusive brunch of traditional, homemade delicacies from Japan that are notably different from our regular fusion menu.
