Located on the magical island of Capri and a short walk from Piazza Umberto (the main square), Michel’angelo is a family owned restaurant serving authentic Caprese cuisine in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. Michel’angelo opened in 2009 by Gianluca D’Esposito in memory of this father, Michele who was a chef, carpenter and fisherman on the island.

On the menu you will find Capri’s traditional dishes such as Ravioli Caprese, Insalata Caprese, spaghetti alle vongole, fresh fish of the day and sautéed clams and mussels as well as, Michel’angelo’s signature dish, Linguine Marina Piccola (mixed seafood linguine with lemon sauce, basil and rocket lettuce). Specials are also offered daily with a selection of Southern Italian dishes with a modern touch.

Michel’angelo makes fresh homemade pasta and bread onsite and uses locally sourced ingredients, along with a range of Italy’s finest regional cheeses and cured meats including the famous bufala mozzarella and burrata that can be enjoyed on our antipasti platters from the Mozzarella Bar. There is an extensive Italian wine list which features Michel’angelo’s premium Aglianico and Taurasi wines.

Michel’angelo also holds cooking classes daily at 9.30am and 4pm where participants learn how to make local cuisine in either our traditional Caprese Cooking Class or our Lemon Cooking Class using recipes passed down through the family; and for lovers of outdoors, Michel’angelo prepares gourmet take away picnic packages to enjoy local cuisine in picturesque Capri locations or on a boat ride around the island. Our cooking classes and picnics can be ordered online through our website.

Michel’angelo is open daily for lunch and dinner from March – December annually and closed Wednesdays.
