Welcome to Rifugio Duca degli Abruzzi
The Refuge, owned by the C.A.I. (Italian Alpine Club) section of Rome, is located on the ridge of Portella mountain at 7834 feet, in the heart of Gran Sasso and Monti della Laga National Park and is next to Corno Grande and all the main mountain peaks. The Duca degli Abruzzi is a mountain hut that is reachable by a moderate 40 minute hike from Campo Imperatore (AQ), or from Prati di Tivo (TE) after a beautiful 4 hours traverse. It's a place where hikers, alpinists and mountain lovers can find refreshment and lodging surrounded by a gorgeous natural environment.
The opening season is from June 1st to September 30th.
