Ideally located in the heart of the capital, the Casino Luxembourg – Forum d’art contemporain holds contemporary art exhibitions with an international programme of mainly younger-generation artists. The art centre houses public spaces with a variety of uses and vocations, combining contemporary art with a warm and friendly meeting place: the ground floor, next to a library specialising in contemporary art, has a “BlackBox” projection room devoted to artists’ videos; an area dedicated to learning activities, and a café-restaurant, the ca(fé)sino. The first floor is exclusively used for temporary exhibitions, so artists’ monographs and themed exhibitions are shown here. These are completed by a varied programme of guided tours, conferences and encounters with contemporary music, as well as artists in residence. Far from any museological concerns, the Casino functions like an artistic and experimental think tank heading for the latest trends in the art scene.

Closed on Tuesdays and on 1.1., 1.11. and 25.12.

Entrance fee:
Adults (26 – 59 years): 5 €.
Reduced entrance fee: 3 € for young people (21 – 25 years), 60+, groups (min. 10 pers.).
Free entrance: children and students (0 – 25 years); card holders: Laissez-Passer, Muséeskaart, LuxembourgCard, Kulturpass, Amis des Musées Luxembourg, AICA, ICOM, ICOMOS, IKT, and press.

Free access to Casino’s ground floor and the ca(fé)sino, the BlackBox exhibition space and the “Aquarium”. Free entrance on Thursday evenings from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m.
