War belongs in a museum
On the former battlefield Overloon stands the oldest warmuseum about the second World War from Western-Europe. On the 25th of May 1946 the museum opened the doors for the first time. The museum shows interactively the large impact of the second World War on every day people and how their lives changed. During a visit you will walk by the resistance, D-day, the holocaust and the liberation.
In the exhibition 'The Netherlands during World War Two' you go back in time and become part of eigth eyewitness stories. What would you do? Wait? Collaborate? Or are you joining the resistance?
In the gigantic military display with over 180 vehicles and planes you also go back to the Battle of Overloon. New in the museum is the interactive display 'Lancaster Paviljon'. This is the only place in the world with a bomber like this displayed in a impressive way.
