Povo is a restaurant/bar that recovers the concept of the old Portuguese taverns adapting it to a modern and urban context, the restaurant combines the simplicity of the traditional Portuguese cuisine with cultural activities focused on the “word” itself and also bar service.

Where is POVO?
Povo restaurant is in Cais do Sodré, a fast developing area that is now one of the main destinations of Lisbon “movida”. It’s located at Rua Nova do Carvalho, a pedestrian street.

What to eat at Povo?
Portuguese traditional petisco is the main inspiration of Povo’s menu. Exploring the simplicity and freshness of Portuguese cuisine, our dishes are thought and meant to be shared.
Povo’s menu is divided into two sections that complement each other: The Classics and The Moderns.
The Classics is a collection of dishes that we offer all year round. The Classics feature a selection of Portuguese petiscos that are representative of our national gastronomy and that encompass the taste and freshness of Portuguese traditional cuisine.
The Moderns feature a collection of seasonal dishes that change every 3 months. Every season chef Fábio Paixão recreates classic recipes and dishes, offering a new menu of modern versions of Portuguese flavors.
