The Pilgrims’ Refectory (Gostevaya Izba restaurant) restaurant and museum of Russian gastronomic heritage is located in the Old Monastery Hostelry wine cellar at St Sergius’ Holy Trinity Laura, clinging to the monastery wall.
Opened in 2012, the restaurant was established to recreate the Russian way of life from the Middle Ages to this day.
The wooden furniture, waiters’ outfits and folk prints on the walls replicate authentic items from the Sergiev Posad State History and Art Museum Reserve.
The Pilgrims’ Refectory (Gostevaya Izba) has a large banquet hall and a small private dining room seating 25, and suits a large gathering, a family or a group of friends alike.
The restaurant is open from 11 am to 11 pm.
The kitchen takes orders until 10 pm.
