The area of Radovljica, or Radol´ca as it is also known, is a charming traditional and active tourist destination in the northwest of Slovenia, just 7 kilometers from the world-famous town of Bled. Centuries old towns and villages, a rich tradition in beekeeping, iron-forging, Slovene national music and excellent local cuisine. All in an environment offering unspoilt nature and charming encounters with the past.
The largest town Radovljica has a charming medieval Old Town with magnificent Linhart Square. It contains excellently preserved town houses from 15th and 16th century, a baroque mansion, Slovenia's only preserved moat tunnel, gothic church of St. Peter, interesting museums (Museum of Apiculture, Municipal Museum and Lectar Gingerbread Museum), galleries, workshops run by craftsmen, cafes and restaurants with traditional food.
Several historical and cultural events take place throughout the year in Linhart Square. By far the biggest annual event in Radovljica is the Chocolate Festival. Every April chocolatiers from all over Slovenia, as well as from neighboring countries, come together to present their chocolate, products and dishes. Second biggest culinary festival in Radol´ca is Taste Radol´ca. For the whole month of November, Radolca's restaurants and inns offers special local menus made by using superior methods, and the finest local ingredients.

The surroundings of Radovljica offer a wide range of possibilities for various outdoor activities. Choose from a range of undemanding walks through the fields and forests, or conquer the highest peaks of the Karavanke Range. Go cycling on flat routes, ideal for family cycling trips, or more demanding ascents to the panoramic mountain pastures in the Karavanke Range and on the Jelovica Plateau. Immerse yourself in the Sava River and take a swim after rafting on the river, take a flight and admire the panoramic views of the Alps and Triglav National Park, spend a relaxing afternoon at Lake Šobec or explore the colourful countryside in the saddle of a horse.

Not far from Radovljica is the largest pilgrim centre in Slovenia – Brezje, with its Basilica of Mary Help of Christians. And beneath the Karavanke Range lies the village of Begunje, the birthplace of the musician, Slavko Avsenik, and of Slovene popular folk music.
Another must-see place is a small village of Kropa, one of the oldest and major iron-forging centres from our past. Here the centuries old tradition of iron-forging is evident in historical houses, forges and the Blacksmiths Museum.
