The Hospital de Los Venerables is home to the Focus Foundation, and can be described as one of the best preserved buildings from the second half of the 17th century when Baroque was in its initial phase. It is wonderfully hidden in the heart of Seville’s Barrio Santa Cruz, and offers:
•Beautiful courtyard, convent cloisters and fountain.
•Church, which is used nowadays as an auditorium, for which a new organ has been built. José Enrique Ayarra, the tenured organist of the Seville Cathedral offers regular concerts and masses here.
• The Permanent Collection of the Velázquez Center where masterpieces such as the Santa Rufina can be viewed.
•Other rooms, such as the Refectory and the winter Chapter Room on the upper floor, which have have been converted into the Library and the Engravings Display.
Opening times:
Thursday, Friday and Saturday, from 10am – 2pm.
Last entry 30 minutes before closing. Entrance is free on the first Thursday of every month.
