KAIA-KAIPE, with more than half a century of life, is distinguished by a cuisine based on fresh, natural and seasonal products, whose culinary technique is the grill. This family business, which began as a seafood bar where you could taste rations and casseroles, has evolved and become a benchmark for traditional Basque restaurants with avant-garde touches. Its location is strategic, since from its spacious dining rooms you can see the Cantabrian Sea in all its splendor, and smell it if you choose to use the terrace, all in a cozy and familiar with views of the port of Getaria.
The menu includes starters such as fish soup, lobster and kokotxas in different textures and main dishes such as turbot and grilled sea bream. The desserts such as the pantxineta or the millefeuille with cream and raspberries are a magnificent finishing touch to complete an experience for the senses.
The restaurant keeps a treasure in the form of a winery, with about 40,000 bottles of wine from around the world and around 1,000 references that will satisfy the most demanding winemaker. On the other hand, it has direct water intake from the sea with its own nurseries (25,000 liters of water) so it works with live shellfish.
