During your visit, you will do a tour where you will be able to see the evolution of the city of Cádiz from its foundation by Phoenicians to Roman times. Right in the 21st century, an interactive multimedia tour will allow you to see the remains of the old Phoenician city built in the 9th century BC, with its dwellings, its streets, its animals, etc. You will also get to know the remains of an important Roman salt-fish factory.
The city of Gadir was founded by the Phoenicians about three thousands years ago and was located in the far west of present-day Europe. It soon became a very important trading post in the sea routes of antiquity, leading the so-called 'Circle of the Strait' formed by cities both from the south of the peninsula and the north of Africa.
