Gerhardt's is a Terre Haute institution, having served the north side of town for nearly 50 years. Started by a German immigrant, the decor, if not authentic, certainly makes one think that one is dining in a country restaurant in Germany. The food is magnificent, and the hottest mustard in town can be had here, if you're brave. The prices are slightly higher than average, but it is definitely worth it, and any visitor to town would be remiss if they did not visit this little bastion of Germany in Terre Haute.
