Enjoy the fully suspended gondola as it passes over the most treacherous section of the Fraser River, Hells Gate. This section of the river was named after Simon Fraser’s voyage in 1808, stating in his journal that “We had to pass where no human being should venture, for surely we have encountered the gates of hell!” The Hell's Gate Experience is one of the top tourism activities in British Columbia, visited by people all over the world.

While visiting, walk across the suspension bridge, take a few snap shots, then go back and view the river from many observation decks. Water levels are known to rise up to 100 feet in the spring reaching record heights of 209 feet deep. Below you, over 200,000,000 gallons of water per minute thunder through this 33 metre wide passage appropriately labeled Hell’s Gate.

Hell’s Gate Airtram can entertain almost any size of groups. Our attraction has a little something for everyone and is sure to entertain audiences of all ages. We open annually from Mid-April to October, and it is perfect for group parties or a family tourist destination.

You will witness firsthand what these words really meant to this early explorer…but has he come back? Researchers have now determined that ghostly spirits linger throughout our attraction but don’t worry; these ghosts are here to help show you a good time during your visit!

Our Simons Café can accommodate any size of groups. We have the biggest dinning area in Fraser Canyon areas, which allows hundreds of customer to have lunch at the same time. Come on in and enjoy our homemade always-fresh salmon chowder and delicious Hells Gate Burgers.

Over 4 tonnes of fudge are manufactured here annually right before your nose and eyes. May we suggest a fudge dipped, waffle, ice cream cone?

Guaranteed to strike it rich! Your whole family will love this activity as a mother lode of opportunity awaits. Sift through actual gravel taken from Hill’s Bar on the Fraser River made famous during the Gold Rush of 1858.

Suspension Bridge &Observation Decks
Get a firsthand look at the International Fish ways that flank the Hell’s Gate gorge as man and nature battle here for supremacy. These massive structures assist millions of salmon each year to their spawning grounds. Also keep your eyes open for river rafters challenging the rapids.

Education
The entire family can learn. Exhibits and displays depict the life cycle of the spawning salmon and is home to our award winning presentation: Run Sockeye, Run. Winner of a bronze medal for best short ecological film at the New York film festival.

You can expect to find over 200 titles of books and cool selection of Hell’s Gate must haves in our themed gift shops.

Pet friendly
We welcome all dogs, but there are a few requirements. You bring the leash; we’ll supply the treats. Your pets can enjoy a nice cold drink from the bucket in our “Pup Pub”.
