Welcome to the Aquatarium, a 27,000+ square foot climate-controlled aquarium and discovery centre in Brockville, Ontario!

At the Aquatarium, we believe that learning can be as entertaining as it is educational. We offer a variety of interactive adventures and experiences that inspire critical thinking through storytelling and play while cultivating an appreciation of the unique history, culture and ecosystems of the 1000 Islands region. Discover the diverse wildlife of the islands, explore the area’s unique history and culture, learn about the economics of the St. Lawrence River, and get your body moving in our recreational experiences. We have 17 signature interactive experiences for all ages! Here are just a few:

1. Shipwreck Tank - Explore the remains of the St. Lawrence River shipwreck the Sir Robert Peel, a steamboat that was seized and burned by real-life pirate Bill Johnston.
2. Creation - Enjoy our saltwater touch tank with live animals to see and touch!
3. Ropes Course and AquaDrop -Test your climbing skills on our challenging ropes course - you would think that you are climbing the rigging of a mighty Tall Ship. You can also walk the plank and take a 40-foot jump (4 storey) to the 1st floor below.
4. Power of Water - Try your hand at generating electricity or learn about how the water of the St. Lawrence River has shaped this region at one of our two water tables.
5. Aquaria - Come see the many species of fish of the St. Lawrence River. Pop up in one of our crawl tunnels and be right under water with the fish.
6. Otters - Yes we have 3 River Otters - Brock, Ivy and Oliver! Watch our Animal Care Team feed and talk about them daily at 11:30 a.m. Please check our website for seasonal open hours.
7. Lighhouse Theatre - Explore the stunning range of possibilities in and around the St. Lawrence River with video footage that whisks you away with the wonder of nature.
8. Green Screen - Make Magic moments that you can document and send to yourself. You can be a reporter for a day and choose 1 of 3 experiences where you can create a video. Or take a static picture where you have caught the largest Sturgeon in the St. Lawrence River (seasonal options may be available). All included in your admission!
9. Skiff House - get a feel for what it would be like to row on the St. Lawrence River in one of our rowing simulators. Challenge a friend or family member!
10. Singer Castle Library - Step into a world of mystery where the walls have eyes and a secret passageway awaits. This is a room of stories, secrets and lots of activities for the kids.
