Scheuermann Vineyard and Winery is nestled in the NW corner of the quaint Village of Westport, at the top of the Rideau Canal. Overlooking Sand lake, the south faced rolling slopes of the vineyard cover 6.3 acres with lush Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Vidal plants.
This family run business began with a vision in 2010, which lead to planting in 2011. August 28th of 2015 marked the day Scheuermann Winery opened their doors as a Garagiste. Now serving wine by the glass and fine food pairings such as Charcuterie, Smoked Salmon, Chicken Nachos, and Oysters. Folks can share time with their family or their loved one and enjoy the tranquil ambiance and serenity the vineyard has to offer. Else wise folks can enjoy a wine tasting and bring their choice wines home.
Every Fall the harvest welcomes friends, Neighbours and guests alike to join in the community of grape picking. Work all morning and into the afternoon, then enjoy a beautiful harvest meal and last years vintage. Join the Scheuermann team for a fun filled day.
The Scheuermann Team has their hands on all stages of the vineyard growth. This helps the team educate guests throughout the season as Vineyard tours are available with no reservations necessary. While touring the vineyard you may also want to stroll over to the diverse breeds of chickens that live quit happily on the family farm.
Until the 2016 harvest enters the line up of wines the current wines available are Riesling 2014, Pinot Noir 2015, Vidal 2015, Sparkling wine (Vidal and riesling), Romatique ( a blend of three aromatics), and Sparkling Apple Cider. 2015 Chardonnay has not been released yet.
