Les Fougères Restaurant, Gourmet Store & Natural Prepared Foods is located just 14 minutes from downtown Ottawa/Gatineau in the beautiful Village of Chelsea in the Gatineau Hills, Québec. Our critically acclaimed cuisine showcases the best regional produce available and our menu is constantly evolving with the seasons.
A small but carefully curated wine list is chosen to complement our hyper seasonal and local menu. Lunch (Wednesday to Friday), week-end brunch, vegetarian & children’s menus are also offered.
Throughout our four seasons, our floor to ceiling walls of windows offer our diners an extraordinary proximity to our landscape, its gardens and woods, winter, spring, summer and fall and pushes towards our goal to express in our foods and space itself a strong sense of place and time.
Our screened verandah invites guests outside to enjoy meals in the soft summer breezes, perfumed by garden blossoms and walks through our beautiful gardens and into the forest with a glass of Rosé or to watch the kids on our swings beckon.
A welcoming, locally made curved counter overlooking our passionate kitchen is perfect spot for a quick bite or more, and our table service offers small plates and full meals or tasting menu. Our commitment to delicious, natural, local and seasonal foods is a core value from which our amazing young chefs and cooks spring.
Les Fougères is open for lunch through dinner Wednesday to Friday 11am to 8:30pm, and brunch through dinner Saturday and Sunday 10am to 8:30pm. Closed Monday, Tuesday and major Holidays. Both the dining room and the verandah are non-smoking.
Our Food Store is open Tuesday to Sunday 19am – 8:30pm. It offers a wonderful selection of charcuteries, cheeses, breads, main and side dishes, prepared meals, juices, condiments, preserves, home-made sausages, burgers, oils vinegars, coffee and teas, gifts, tableware and lots of fabulous, carefully selected products for food lovers. Our special hearth oven dishes are bubbling hot and ready to take home to enjoy right away. Our commitment to food without additives or chemicals, real foods made from scratch, is as strong in the Store as in the Restaurant.
Les Fougères also has an Artisan Production kitchen behind our store where a small committed team, including Charles & Jennifer, the original and longstanding co-owners, cook a line of natural prepared foods which we sell in our Store, but also in many stores in our Region and across Québec. Convenience food does not need to be junk food and demonstrating this in the broad market is part of our continued commitment to good, healthy home-made food.
