MacBride Museum of Yukon History is a vibrant, interactive museum that covers more than half a city block. Exhibits feature the history of the Yukon with a focus on our capital city – Whitehorse, northern animals, First Nation beadwork and tools, transportation history, and more. We also present special exhibits that reflect our local community.
Opened in 1952, MacBride is the Yukon’s first museum with an interesting wide-ranging collection of artifacts, photographs and documents. MacBride is growing with a 15,000 sq. ft. expansion opening in the summer of 2018. We are open year round (including during construction) and offer special programs, gold panning, lectures and events.
