My husband, Michael Williams, and I (Lindsay Williams) set out on this adventure in October 2007, by starting Midnight Sun Cafe. In May 2014, we added to our cafe family and assumed ownership of Moose A’La Mode. We have incorporated most of the menu items and concepts from Midnight Sun Cafe into Moose A'La Mode. But Moose A'La Mode definitely has its own personality and something Midnight Sun Cafe doesn't have....ICE CREAM! We have the best coffee in Alaska! K Bay Coffee & Espresso is Organic and Fairly Traded, locally roasted in Homer, Alaska. We serve a variety of unique deli sandwiches and panini, homemade soups, fresh salads with our signature dressings, and baked goods made from scratch with love. We are passionate about great food & warm hospitality.
We are heavily involved in our community & enjoy volunteering our time for local events/causes. We have made numerous in-kind donations to local non-profits and schools for silent auctions supporting fundraising efforts. We have a partnership with the King Career Center and participate on their Business Industries Class Advisory Board. This program helps to prepare students for entry-level positions in small business while helping them to identify educational pathways to a more specialized business field.
We are also passionate about recycling. Each week we take a truck full of recycling across town. As a restaurant, we create a lot of trash and feel it is our responsibility to do what we can to reduce our footprint.
Part of our dream has always been to sew into the community and to make a difference. The cafes have been instrumental in realizing this dream and we look forward to many more years of positively impacting our community. We hope you find joy each day in this life you have been given.
