Established in 1938 and comprising 83 acres in Miami, Fla., Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to exploring, explaining and conserving the world of tropical plants. The world-renowned plant collections feature palms, cycads, orchids, tropical fruit trees and more. Fairchild has the largest education program of any metropolitan area, reaching more than 200,000 schoolchildren each year with environmental programs like The Fairchild Challenge. It aims to inspire a greater knowledge and love for plants and gardening so that all can enjoy the beauty and bounty of the tropical world. Special events include Chocolate, Mango, Orchid and Edible Garden Festivals in addition to an annual art exhibition, concerts, plant sales and more. The Adam R. Rose and Peter R. McQuillan Arts Center boast has rotating artwork exhibitions as part of the Art at Fairchild program.
The "End of the Day Tower" by Dale Chihuly are part of the art installations displayed throughout the Garden.
Our Wings of the Tropics Conservatory features thousands of exotic butterflies along with tropical fish and some of the world's most beautiful rare plants.
In our Wings of the Tropics butterfly exhibit, you will see the Blue Morpho, Owl, Bamboo Page, and Leopard Lacewing butterflies, along with 40 more species.
The Lisa D. Anness South Florida Butterfly Garden celebrates the diversity of butterfly species in the region and provides a template for local gardeners.

The Richard H. Simons Rainforest is a two-acre exhibit with species collected by Fairchild plant scientists from tropical forests throughout the world. It also features stunning waterfalls and meandering streams as well as hundreds of orchids, aroids, palms, ferns, bromeliads and many more rainforest plants.
