Loyola University Museum of Art is an university art museum affiliated with Loyola University Chicago. Located by Loyola's Water Tower Campus directly on the Magnificent Mile, LUMA stands right in the center of shopping and entertainment in the city of Chicago. The museum, with 25,000 square feet, contains two main galleries: the temporary collection on the second floor, and the permanent Martin D'Arcy collection the third. On the second floor are the museum's rotating exhibitions which vary greatly in theme; the museum has shown work from artists ranging from Edward Gorey to Andy Warhol. The Martin D'Arcy collection is one of the Midwest's finest renaissance, medieval and baroque art collections, boasting a variety of different artistic and devotional pieces from across Europe. Alongside the main galleries, there are also the Harlan J. Berk Works on Paper and Jean M. Unsworth Art Expressways galleries that exhibit both works from other artists and from Chicagoland art students.
General admission to the museum is $9; discounted admission for non-Loyola students with ID is $3 and senior admission is $6. Students under the age of 18 get into the museum for free. On Tuesdays admission to the museum is free to the general public, and the museum runs longer hours.
