Save Our Cemeteries is a non-profit organization dedicated to preservation, promotion, and protection of the historic cemeteries of New Orleans through restoration, education, and advocacy. Programs include cemetery walking tours, an annual 5K Run/Walk through historic Metairie Cemetery, an annual summer Cemetery Seminar, a quarterly lecture series, tomb restoration workshops, and several other fundraisers throughout the year.
Founded in 1974, Save Our Cemeteries is the only non-profit organization in the city of New Orleans dedicated to saving the unique cemeteries of our region.
