The Moosehead Pinnacle Pursuit (MPP) is a six mountain hiking challenge in the Moosehead Lake region of Maine. The mountains include: Mount Kineo, Number Four Mountain, Whitecap Mountain, Eagle Rock, Big Moose Mountain, and Borestone Mountain.
Finish all 6 hikes anytime on or after May 27, 2016 and become a registered member of the Moosehead Pinnacle Pursuit.
The MPP also offers three additional badges to collect: Ultra, Winter, and Winter Ultra.
The Challenge
The mountains in the Moosehead Pinnacle Pursuit offer panoramic views from each corner of the Moosehead Lake region. This challenge offers the perfect itinerary for a climb each day of your week long stay. Don’t have a week? Get started early each day and shorten your agenda by pairing up Borestone & Number Four Mountain and Kineo & Big Moose. We suggest you leave White Cap and Eagle Rock each to their own day.
Hike at Your Own Pace:
Finish all 6 hikes anytime on or after May 27, 2016 and become a registered member of the Moosehead Pinnacle Pursuit.

Ultra Members of the Moosehead Pinnacle Pursuit:
If you finish the 6 summits in a continuous 48 hours, then you receive ‘Ultra’ status.
For those attempting to achieve ‘Ultra status’, hikers must:
Leave from the Gazebo at the Moosehead Marine Museum
End at the Moosehead Marine Museum
Complete all 6 climbs within a continuous 48 hour period
A separate form for each hiker must be sent in for approval of ‘Ultra’ status.
Winter Members of the Moosehead Pinnacle Pursuit:
If you finish the 6 summits between January 1 and April 15 of the same year, then you receive ‘Winter’ status.
For those attempting to achieve ‘Winter status’, hikers must:
Complete all 6 climbs between January 1 and April 15 of the same year
A separate form for each hiker must be sent in for approval of ‘Winter’ status.
Winter Ultra Members of the Moosehead Pinnacle Pursuit:
If you finish the 6 summits in a continuous 48 hours between January 1 and April 15 of the same year, then you receive ‘Winter Ultra’ status.
For those attempting to achieve ‘Winter Ultra status’, hikers must:

End at the Moosehead Marine Museum

Summit all six mountains in the Moosehead Pinnacle Pursuit challenge on or after May 27th, 2016
Download the application or pick one up at our Moosehead Lake Visitor Center. The form will ask you for the following information:
Date you climbed each mountain
Time you reached each mountain summit
Your mailing and email addresses
Drop off or mail in your application with $10 program entry fee. Checks made payable to “Moosehead Lake Chamber of Commerce”

Once your application has been reviewed, you will receive a confirmation letter acknowledging that they have completed the official MPP Challenge. You will also receive the official MPP patch and sticker only issued to successful hikers. You will also be listed on the official online registry of MPP hikers.
