Crab Apple Whitewater is a three generation rafting business offering trips in Maine, Massachusetts and Vermont. Rafting and inflatable kayak adventures are full day or 1/2 day and include the finest outfitting gear to keep you comfortable and safe. Most trips are guided and our guides are the best - extensions of our family with great river skills, enthusiasm and love of the outdoors. What sets Crab Apple apart - family members leading all trips with guide and support staff that make each experience special.
Rafting in Massachusetts is on the dam controlled Deerfield River. Three distinct sections of river below multiple dams offer mild, intermediate or aggressive trips with minimum ages for children of 5, 8, 10 or 15. Our beautiful base camp sits on the river and along the historic Mohawk Trail.
Rafting in Maine is on the Kennebec and Dead Rivers which feature high volume rapids at thrilling Class 3 and 4 levels. Rapids can reach Class 5 in some conditions. Trips run daily from our riverside base camp May through September. We have the best location on the river so you can float the end of the trip right to our base and step out of the raft and into the pool or a hot tub while your guides prepare a delicious lunch. No shuttle at the end of the trip - no soggy, cold bus rides!
Our location in Maine is remote and also includes lodging options from 2 person suites up to cabins sleeping 12. A pub and restaurant are on site and a quick trip up the road gets you to our paintball fields for a few hours of Nightfall Paintball after rafting for those that still have some energy.
