Author Edith Wharton designed and built The Mount in 1902. She created a world of gracious beauty which invigorated her creative spirit. Today, visitors enjoy guided or self-guided tours of the house and gardens, recently restored to their original splendor. Programs throughout the year reflect Wharton's love of culture and the arts.
