With High Adventure, Camps, Global Village, Wild Wonders Wildlife Park, Alexandria's Naturescape and so much more - there's something for everyone! Come join us for a day of fun, our wildlife park featuring over 75 Michigan birds, mammals and reptiles, is open daily from 10am to 5pm. Alexandria's Naturescape our outdoor fenced in children's natural play area is also open 10am to 5pm from May to October. From its inception in 1963, Howell Nature Center has developed a one-of-a-kind mission: providing a comprehensive wildlife rehabilitation, environmental and outdoor education, and outdoor recreation facility to individuals and groups. Features of the 270-acre location include: seven spacious, modern lodges; miles of trails; a nationally-recognized wildlife rehabilitation program; the Midwest’s only Heifer Global Village site; the area’s only zip course; Michigan’s tallest outdoor climbing tower; two high ropes courses; Livingston county’s only zoo; and more. About Wildlife Rehabilitation and Education at Howell Nature Center
The Howell Nature Center's Wildlife Rehabilitation program celebrated 30 years in service to injured and orphaned animals in 2012. It is the largest and most comprehensive program of its kind in Michigan, and is recognized across the country for its specialization in raptors, or birds of prey. The Nature Center cares for thousands of injured and orphaned animals every year, with the bulk of those intakes coming in May, June and July.
