Mill Neck Manor, located on Long Island’s prestigious North Shore, is a majestic Tudor Revival mansion. It is set on an 86-acre scenic estate overlooking Long Island Sound. The 1920s mansion, once called Sefton Manor, was owned by Robert Leftwich Dodge and his wife, the cosmetics heiress Lillian Sefton Dodge.
In 1949, Lutheran Friends of the Deaf, the founding group of the Mill Neck Family of Organizations, purchased the property from Mrs. Dodge. Today, Mill Neck Manor and all the surrounding properties on the historic grounds continue to form the Mill Neck Family of Organizations’ campus.
Step back in time to experience and savor the mansion’s exquisite appointments. Learn about its history – and about the life of Lillian Sefton Dodge and Mill Neck Manor School for the Deaf.
Organized in groups of 25, docent-led tours commence by the 500-year old front doors. The complete tour lasts approximately 90 minutes and does involve some walking and climbing of stairs. Tours are available to the public by appointment only once a month on Sundays and a few select Saturdays.
Guided tours of Mill Neck Manor include light refreshments, access to the gardens and Manor House Gift Shop.
Group rates are available.
