The longest pedestrian bridge in the world. The 1.28 mile long linear park standing 212 feet above water offers walkers, hikers, bicyclists and those with disabilities spectacular views of the Hudson River Valley and connects to nearly 18 miles of continuous rail trails in Dutchess & Ulster counties. Non-motorized vehicles and dogs allowed. Formerly a railroad bridge c. 1888, this linear park is managed by New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation. This state park is a must see when visiting the Mid-Hudson Valley. Within walking distance from the Amtrak/Metro North train station and is a perfect day tripping excursion.
