Experience the Hoover Legacy, the story of Hoover Company history in the Hoover family home located inside Walsh University's Hoover Park, all original family farmland. Beginning in a primitive 1840s building, the original family home, visitors are briefed on family history. Here also the Center chronicles the evolution of the vacuum cleaner with one of the world’s most complete collection of non-electric devices. A replica of a 1910 manual cleaner is available as an interactive.
Amid elegant Victorian decor, the family's Victorian farmhouse displays the first Hoover vacuum (1908) and all landmark Hoover models produced through the 2008 100th Anniversary product line. Ladies vintage fashions accent product and advertising displays. Hoover history with war memorabilia includes Civil War, and Hoover Company's numerous contributions to WWII. Dispalys include war materiels produced, ads, awards, photographs and history on 84 children evacuated from England and made Stark County their home for five years -all through The Hoover Company.
Interactives include singing the Hoover song with a recording, floating a canister vacuum, and attaching a hand-held vacuum to a portable wall.
Photographs and awards of Hoover Company floats from ProFootball Hall of Fame complete the exhibits.
